How to Edit this Netquotevar?

    How to Edit this Netquotevar?

    Hi and thank you for reading this......

    Bill Campbell created this template for me and I cannot reach him to make a simple edit. Apparently there is text and an image buried within this string:

      There is an image and some text that this code loads. I need to edit both.

      It must be contained somewhere in this string, I have searched the rest of the html. I am not an experienced coder.

      Here is the entire string. I believe it is located somewhere in the RED text:

        That looks like your Act_Primary template.
        But to help can you tell me what image you are trying to change and where in the page it is? Can you describe where it is and give a link to the page perhaps?

          This is a place holder for the main content of the site and formed from all the product layouts, section lists etc.

              Some basic information to help you understand Jonty's post:.
              Actinic uses a series of template files to produce your website pages. the templates look like html, but they are unfinished. they contain things like NETQUOTEVAR:xxxx. When Actinic uploads your website, it reads the templates files and replaces the NETQUOTEVAR items with details that you have entered into the Actinic software. Doing this, it can generate html web pages for your site.

              The large section you have shown in your second post looks like a template file called Act_Primary.html. It is one of the main files that define the overall look of your site. The NETQUOTEVAR:BULK item is a placeholder for the main area of your webpages - the bits that are different for every product. It is filled in using other templates and your product and section details.

              You still haven't answered the question: What are you wanting to do?
              We can't tell you the best way forward until you answer that.

                Thanks Alan, I am getting a picture of how Actinic builds the pages when uploading.

                What I want to do is:

                Edit the text on this page, next to the image of the girl:

                When I open the "Overall Layout" template in Developer (the entire file posted above), I cannot find where this text and image can be edited!

                I believe it is buried in a NETQUOTEVAR, or that a NETQUOTEVAR calls it at load, but I do not know how to find it.

                  This looks like a brochure page - in which case I would expect the text to be in a fragment on that page, so it would be in Actinic - not in the template. Expand the top part of the content tree and tale a look at the fragmenmts there.

                    Looking at the source of this page, I've noticed a reference to this file:

                    C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\Act_LeftImageBridal.html

                    The rest of the site appears to have been set up normally, with sections and products. The 'Bridal' page looks like a brochure page with its own template. In that case, the text he is looking for may be held in that template (Act_LeftImageBridal.html).

                      Okay Guys, Found It!

                      Yes, the text and image are located in a "Fragment" of that section. And the layout for that fragment is: "Act_LeftImageBridal.html"......

                      Sometimes things are right under your nose. I have never had occassion to create or deal with fragments so I was not even noticing them in the catalog tree.
