yes, I've seen that thread before - but it's only a partial fix (eg. you can set it to GMT - 4 hours or GMT+6 hours or whatever), but I don't see how it works with daylight savings time - unless you change the scripts everytime the clocks go back/forward.

the KB article seems to imply a fix specifically for the DST problem.

that is what you have to do, some hosts change the systems some dont, bst unfortunately causes these problems

Many hosts don't adjust for daylights savings as it can mess up server logs and file time and dates etc, including cookies and session files I would expect.
