    Exporting Orders? Arghh!

    Hi all,

Can someone help, haven't doen this for a while.

Got new PC Today for Actinic. D-loaded V6.1.5 from site, installed - fine.

Exported Snapshot from Laptop - Fine. Imported site on new PC - no orders at all? Nothing - just all blank? Site is all there and looks OK but no orders? And mine go back to 05!

Went back to Laptop. Tried Export Wizard. Ticked boxes: Catalog, Customer Accounts, Shipping Tables.

Imported on new PC, still no orders?

Is it somnething real simple I'm missing? Would appreciate a quick help response please as I have suspended ordering on site for now while I migrate over to new PC.

I did compact the database last week with advise from smeone here, is it to do with that maybe?

    Thanks as usual

    Brian,

I'm not familiar with anything pre V8, but I'll do my best to help. In my experience a Snapshot import should have bought the orders with it, but obviuosly this is not the case with you.

Is the version you downloaded exactly the same as the one on your laptop?

Do you have an "Import Orders" option? Site | Import Orders

If you do you could copy the ActinicCatalog database on your laptop to your PC then Import Orders and navigate to the database. This should pull the information you need into your new install.

It may be worth doing a couple more snapshots first, just to make sure you:

    a) Have plenty of backups
    b) The first Snapshot may be corrupt

      Thanks man,

Appreciated, but I just realised what I hadn't done - in this case! When importing, I missed that weeny little check-box asking if I wanted to over-write the orders Tried again, checked this box and bingo! All sorted

      Cheers . .
