Using catalog can you have product images centred on the page and have title, ref and discription etc. below.

given your knowledge of html you would be better of using one of the actinic templates..

Go to Design menu | Options|layout tab Find Product templates and choose a layout from the list from the select option.

in order to centre the products you will have to be able to edit html
