Frustrating Link to Contact Us...

Hi all,

I'm trying to insert the following link so customers are taken directly to the contact us page.

<a href="http://www.yourserver.com/cgi-bin/mf000001.pl?ACTION=SHOWFORM">

However when I insert it on: www.youraloestore.co.uk it doesn't work.

However on: www.bridgingthegap2.co.uk - it does work...

Any ideas what's going on??

The site is being redeveloped so I know it's not perfect (yet)

Try a purge and refresh of the site.

Note that you are not consistant with your use of http://www.yourserver.com and http://yourserver.com on either site. I'd stick to one way, and preferrably with the www.

you've got a confusing mix of domains there, 2 domains, some links with www and some without

which is the primary domain in network settings?

how do you alias the other?

why the mix?

Thanks for your comments - just completed a purge and refresh to see what happens and its still not working...

Not sure what's going on here....

As I'm just finalising the redevelopment I had noticed that some links started with www. some didn't so I'm just going through each page now to sort out all the inconsistencies.

I treat both sites separately and hosted separately aswell. I wanted to create a site with a range of products and then another site which is very specific.

I've run actinic sites before but haven't done much with it recently so thought it was time for a refresh.

Thanks Jo for pointing that out...

Instead of rewriting the site from scratch - I imported a snapshot (from bridginghthegap2) and began redeveloping so I didn't have to key all my products in again.

I've updated 'some' of the links that refer to youraloestore.co.uk but now none of them are working...(contact us/catalogue request/shopping cart etc..)

I've attached a copy of my network settings (deleting the passwords)

Any idea what it might be?

i suspect you have hard coded the links, you will need to find the offending links and re-code them

then do a full purge and refresh, you need to get the cgi scripts to refresh

Thanks Jo - I did what you said and it 'began' to work.

However AARRRRGGHHH

Worked then didn't work - worked then didn't work - why is that?

On the home page in the text which welcomes the customer I have a contact us link - which works!!

www.youraloestore.co.uk

However... I have hard coded the text at the top of the page to point to:

http://www.youraloestore.co.uk/cgi-b...CTION=SHOWFORM

This works sometimes but not others - I've ensured all text is highlighted when adding the link so I just can't understand what's happening.

Very tempremental....

Neither are working on those pages you posted for me.

For me, only the second link goes anywhere, the first gets a 404 Not Found

From the homepage - the 'Contact Us' is incorrect as it has the ACTION missing and the 'Catalog Request' has two ?? in it instead of one.
