Misiing transactions on sales analysis report

Hi - I have another issue with the client of mine who is running his site via 2 pc's - 1 does catalog maintenance and one does order processing.

The catalog on the order processing machine is about 3 months old and is hidden from the client by only selecting order processing in the business settings. This is where the following reports are run.

When he reports on SALES > TRANSACTIONS, all the transactions are displayed correctly.

When he reports on SALES > SALES ANALYSIS, some transactions are missing from the report. Analysis seems to show that these transactions are for sections that are hidden on the old, and out-of-date catalog.

Can anybody shed any light on this?

    Regards

The sales analysis shows the top x transactions, if you want to see them all you have to go into the options and select 'all ascending' or 'all descending'.

Hi Jan - I have already tried this before I posted on here. The problem still remains - it did not display the expected transactions.

Perhaps you could email me a snapshot of the faulty store and I will see if I can get someone here to re-create the problem.

        My email address is cdicken@actinic.co.uk.

I have figured out the discrepancy between the two amounts. I ran both reports on all orders between 18/09/02 and 17/01/03.

'Sales | Transactions' (The 'Transaction Report') gives an order total of £2590.02 (ex VAT)

'Sales | Sales Anaylsis' (The 'Sales Analysis') gives an order total of £2335.58 (ex VAT)

The discrepancy of £254.44 is accounted for by being the total of order lines that are in orders in the 'Pending' tray (i.e. not completed). The Sales Analysis ignores these whilst the Transaction Report includes them.

Hope this helps clear this up.

Hi Chris - I may not have provided enough information here.

If you look on the transaction report you will see several transactions relating to products beginning with a reference number 097 which relate to a brand named Buff. There are no transactions on the sales analysis report for products 097 - Buff.

There may be others but these are the ones that my client has picked up on.

There are no transactions on the sales analysis report for products 097 - Buff.

              Nor for:
              Quad Rugby Twill Shirt
              Salcombe Twill Shirt
              Salcome
              Apex Fleece Jacket

Despite the fact these are products from valid orders. THe money for these items are included in the total at the top of the Sales Analysis, but these items do not show up on the breakdown of products.

This looks like a problem in the software and I will refer it to the developers. Your customer can be assured there is no myserious 'ghost' store that Actinic is getting these orders from.

For now, use the Transaction Report as a valid breakdown of the items ordered on the store.
