VAT rounding

Having a problem with VAT rounding, which I'm sure others will have had a some stage. I've got a section called the £4.99 section. I'm inputting prices ex VAT and letting Actinic add the VAT. The problem is whatever price I put into Actinic I'm 1p either side of £4.99 (i'm getting £4.98 or £5.00)

VAT is being worked out as round line item up. Does anyone know how I can get round this problem because £4.34 + VAT is definitely £4.99. I don't want to change the way VAT is worked out/rounded only for it to affect the prices in other sections (as I've got a £2.99 and £9.99 section also!)

Check your VAT rounding. It should be set to 'Round Item Scientific'.

This will fix this price but might affect your others. These will need setting with a custom VAT value if the rounding doesn't work the way you want it.

Long term, the best solution is to move to V9 as this allows you to enter prices as VAT inclusive and Actinic will work out the VAT from that. It also means the prices in the cart and checkout will be shown including the VAT which avoids a lot of customer confusion.
