Creating Multiple Sites from a Template

    Hi everyone,

I have just recently launched a new business - www.yourxocaistore.co.uk and as part of this I will be looking to recruit distributors/business builders

I want to give distributors the option of purchasing a website for a monthly fee with the ability to chose from possibly 4 different designs.

Now.. I know that I can quite easily duplicate the sites using V7 Developer but my concern is how would the individual manage the order process?

I know previously we had Actinic Order Manager but I don't know whether that is available now - or does anyone know of an alternative solution where I can do the design in actinic but link the distributors site straight into their Paypal or Google payment system and capture the customers address details there??

Any advise / help would be much appreciated..

    Regards
    Linda

I would suggest you contact actinic and discuss the licence requirements of what you are intending to do as it sounds like it's against the terms of your licence to me.

Seems so - thinking about it, wouldn't this defeat the purpose of a developer buying Develop and getting their client to buy Catalog? The developer would just use his/her copy and do exactly what you are hoping to do.

We wanted to do this in a similar fashion approx 2 years ago but in the end we bought Business Plus and our other company got Catalog after speaking to Actinic.

Thanks - yes I understand what you're saying and I have done this previously - designed the site and the customer purchased Order Manager to deal with the orders.

But, from what you're both saying it looks like there's only catalog available now... I'll have to think about that one...

Actinic Order Manager was phased out and replaced with Catalog Client from v8+

To do this now you would need designer and a copy of catalog client or business client for each site at a cost of £235 or £513 for the client copy each time. Designer is £350 but you could use business plus as well.
