Subsection listings been added instead by mistake possibly, ie the layout you normally see in the central area of your site?

As Norman designed the menu you are currently using then his instructions are 100% correct unforunately when things have been changed from standard it's difficult for us to see what is happening but as norm says just adding the toplevelsection should simply work.

Keep trying or contact someone to see if they can do it for you as it's a simple job.

I think so , now I changed the section layout template for the menu on the side it has altered the section layout for products in the middle
