Uploading error:- 'The input is NULL'

I'm in the process of changing laptops and have accidentally down loaded orders from the website to the new computer which is not the 'master'. I've then downloaded again on the one I ususally use and then uploaded. I then get the following error message:-

'An error occurred while merging files on the remote site. The input is NULL'

I realise that there are going to be descrepancies between the database on the 'master' laptop and the server but how to I correct the situation?

Should I upload from the new computer (which has a snapshot two days old) or is this just going to make matters worse?
