Not updating and no error message

We're still using Actinic 7 and have just this week acquired a big problem. Upon pressing the blue button to update the site with new items etc. it checks the catalogue, html pages and the search indices successfully then the updating box disappears with no accompanying error message.
The guy who installed Actinic for us seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet and so we're a little bit stuck. Any ideas?

Hey Matthew,

I've had this in the past, the solution I found, was to go into "Network Setup", export your network settings onto the desktop, so they are saved, then put in rubbish in all the fields which you have filled in, apply and ok. Try to update, and you will get the standard incorrect username and password. Ok that box, go back to network setup, and reimport you network settings, apply and okay.

Now do a full web refresh and it will upload

It an old bug, which I saw alot but never could recreate
