Once an item has been put into the basket it can not revert to last viewed item

We have an issue with our Actinic site V7. When a customer puts an item in their basket and then goes back, their place is lost and they have to scroll back from the top of the section. I don't want to make the pages shorter, I want it to remember where it was. Does anyone have an idea that can explain it in a non techie way?

Can you explain what you might have been doing lately to have caused this issue. Think hard and be truthful, you'll get better and quicker help. I'd guess at page anchors having been removed from the product layout, but not only did you give very little information, you also gave no URL for us to see. Help us to help you.
