    Unhandled Win32 exception in Catalog.exe

When I try to upload my catalog to my secure area on my website, I get the above error. It says I need to run the just in time debugger, which then gives me the error message:

Unhandled exception at 0x06a4ef4c in Catalog.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000018.

    Anybody any ideas?

    TIA

It's not a common error. I would try following the suggestions in this thread http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=28031 to see if that sorts it.

For safety, I would make a snapshot and check the snapshot size before doing anything and copy all the contents of the site1 folder to another location outside of the Actinic folder just in case of problems.

    You say:

Are you just giving us more information here or suggesting that other uploads work OK?

    Mike

PS. What version of Actinic are you using?

      Version

I'm using 6.1.3 - an old version I know but it worked perfectluy well on the old machine so I've had no need to upgrade. I've formatted the machine, installed the same OS (Win XP Pro SP2 - same as the old machine), installed Actinic and imported a backup I took before I formatted the machine. It takes all details into Actinic including catalog and connection details etc.

The bit about my upload was just more information, I can't upload any Actinic catalog to the server.

It's just when I try to upload I get the Unhandled Win32... error.

      Hope that helps

Make sure you have installed the same version of actinic on both machines. If you are installing from CD, you may well have upgraded the old store, thus they are different versions. The CD is often redundant as the interim versions supercede them.

The first thing I would try is upgrading to 6.1.5. (well the second thing really, the first thing is always to make sure you have secure backups in place)

6.1.5 has an improved ftp upload routine so there's a good chance that it won't trigger the same error. It's odd that it only does it on one PC and not another, but it's probably easier to avoid the problem rather than trying to fix it.
