Hi, we are trying to integrate Actinic with an EPOS system but it appears that two databases are needed. As this introduces redundancy into the system, doesn't this seem a bit strange? Any ideas how we can get round this?

What is your EPOS system? I've got a product that completely integrates Actinic with Top 2 Toe, much used in the fashion, sports and footwear sectors.

EPOS
Hi Norman, No EPOS system yet - we are designing an e-commerce website for a client and have been asked to suggest an integrated solution for them. At the moment we are trying to decide if a custom solution is the best option, as it seems quite difficult to avoid redundancy of data using the Actinic system, as it uses a separate database (from any EPOS system that our client may use, which also uses a database). The problem is trying to keep the two databases in sync. We have been asked to look into using actinic by our client, which is a little strange, as it seems to be a GUI for building e-commerce sites, and we are Software Engineers, and hard code solution usually! - does not make sense to use this system, but we are looking into it anyway.
Having said that.....we are open to suggestions, so if you supply an interface to Actinic from/to an EPOS system, could you suggest either a supplier for the EPOS System), or a format of data needed for your system (CSV? non-proprietory format?) and we will look into it.
