    Backgrounds

Whats the easiest way to add a background to a web page?

I'm intergrating Actinic v6 with Dreamweaver mx.

I'm changing the background in Dreamweaver but the changes don't propergate out when I open the pages in Actinic.

At the moment, I have everything sat inside a table and I'm altering the tables background.

    Please Help

I use V6 and MX together without any issues. Are you editing a template? If so which one?

If you are adding a image as a background you will need to ensure that the file is added in the Advanced | Additional Files section. Alternatively publish the image to the acatalog directory on your server.

If you are simply adding a colour certain templates overide this as they are using .gif files as table backgrounds already, which you would need to remove from the template to get your colour to appear.

    Hope this helps.
    Ian.

The clean layouts are particularly guilty of this...

Check the code in Act_Primary.html for a 'background=' tag in the <td> for the main product area. Remove this, and then Actinic will use the correct background.

Alternatively, enter the colour you want in the 'Palette Background' field in 'Design | Colors'.
