Free Delivery for selected products

We currently having shipping based on order value for the UK mainland and quote for Highlands/Islands etc. per order.

We would like to offer free postage and packaging on a product for all the shipping zones. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to this?

Can you not create a separate shipping zone containing 'Highlands and Islands' and then have a 'Call Us' shipping class within that zone which charges no shipping.

Whether you set up the 'Highlands and Islands' as a country or as a province within the UK is up to you. This is done in 'Advanced | Network Setup'.

Thanks for the reply. I think we may have crossed wires here.

To be more precise, we have half a dozen geographical shipping zones for the UK, NI, Eire & Channel Islands. Only two of the zones have shipping calculations done online using the value shipping method.

An example fo the problem, would be someone order this product we want to ship for free but also ordering a product that we do not ship for free. If they only ordered the prodcut that has free shipping, I could just set up special delivery zone for that product, but that is unlikely to be the only scenario.

OK - thanks for the explanation.

I'm afraid the only way to do free shipping on certain items in Actinic at the moment is to charge 'By weight' and then create a free shipping band for all orders with no weight. Then you can simply enter a weight of '0' for all product that you want free shipping on.

I appreciate that this is not going to solve your problem though as you are based on value. All I can suggest is switch to charging 'by weight' and then re-create the same shipping bands as you currently have - but using kilos instead of £sterling. Then just enter the price of each product into the 'Weight in kg' field (apart from the ones that you want to be '0').

I did expect that answer, but thought it was worth asking.

We are looking changing to shipping via weight to try and enable more flexible and accurate shipping, but it will be a long slog with 300/400 products.
