canceling orders that havent gone through yet.

im very new to this, so please bear with me.

a customer has ordered a product... he has found it cheaper somewhere else.... he has asked to cancel the order. his payment has yet to get to securetrading and they have no record of his order. so i take it that he is yet to be charged.

i want to cancel his order.

if i delete his order from actinic/orders.... will that stop his order?

    many thanks

    Tony

p.s sorry about a really lame question.

You cannot use Actinic to change or cancel a transaction that has is going through SecureTrading. You need to use your admin interface to Secure Trading for that.

This is because the credit card data that the customer enters goes into SecureTrading and is not held within Actinic. Actinic is only notified of the success or otherwise of the initial authorisation process. You may also get a transaction reference number (look in the order under Payments and Progress, view Payments. If so, then you may be able to use the reference to locate the transaction within SecureTrading using their admin interface.

However, if the transaction has already gone to your aquiring bank (the one that you have your merchant number from), then you will need to contact them to cancel it/ put through a refund.

    I hope this helps.
