    Developer V6 and Windows 7

Following a hard drive failure i have had to do a fresh install of everything.

I chose this time to install Windows 7.
I then downloaded V6 from Actinic and installed it with my key.

The problem that I am facing is that I cannot start Actinic. When I click it it displays the message "Unable to locate the database for the selected site. The site will remain unchanged".
Actinic then closes when i click OK (the only option).

I do have an external copy of a site snapshot but am obviosly unable to deploy it as i cannot get Actinic to open.

I have read sinilar posts to this but none provided a solution that works for me.

    Please help

    Regards

    Darren

You must run Actinic in Admin mode. Are you doing that?

In v6 i dont think there is an option to place site1 outside of the programfiles folder, but w7 wont let you put datafiles within programfiles..

isnt this the cause of conflict?

i know peoplw have the latest version of v7 on windows7/vista but has anyone got v6 on windows7/vista

        Thanks for the tip.

I have tried to open it to Run as Administrator but still get the same message.

I'm running V7 on Windows 7 Pro. What I did was to install it into a dedicated folder (D:\Actinic V7) and not within the default Program Files.

Best uninstall what you've got before trying this.

            Hi Norman,

            Thanks for that.

            It has done the trick.

            Kind Regards
