Two catalogues on the same domain?

Any one knows if it's possible to have two Actinic Business v.6
on the same domain under the same server?

    Thanks

You need them to be in different directories on the server and each to use a different CGI Script ID no (see Advanced / Network Setup).

    E.g. www.mydomain.com/shopa/ using CGI ID 1

and www.mydomain.com/shopb/ using CGI ID 2

One of these could be in the root of your site if you prefer. You just couldn't have two catalogues sharing the same root.

      Hi Bilbo,

I am using two catalogs on the same domain. What I did was to change the settings in the 'Network Setup' under the Advance menu.

You need to change your catalog URL to point to another folder from your first site i.e.

      CATALOG URL:
      first site: www.yourdomain.com/acatalog
      second site: www.yourdomain/newfolder1/acatalog

      PATH FROM CGI-BIN TO acatalog:

      first site: ../acatalog
      second site: ../newfolder1/acatalog

      CGI-SCRIPT ID NUMBER:

      first site: 1
second site: 22 (this can be any number as long as it's not the same as your first site)

      WEBSITE URL:

      first site: www.yourdomain.com
      second site: www.yourdomain.com/newfolder1

I think this should do it, but get this check with someone at Actinic. The only problem I have had with this setup is that I was using the same CGI-BIN for both sites and the shipping costs were not independant - see my current thread opend a few days ago. I also am using Actinic version 5 and not version 6.

      Good luck,

      Ed

        Ed,

Lots of people run multiple sites in the same domain without Shipping Cost problems, so I think that your problem may be due to some other cause.
