Can't display or print any pdfs

All of a sudden Actinic v7 has stopped displaying and printing all pdfs - packing lists, reports, invoices, etc.

I reinstalled Adobe, and it opens all other pdfs fine.
My printer is working from within Actinic for everything except pdfs.
I've replaced the .pdf and .rpt files from back up.

Do I need an older version of Adobe Reader to view pdfs in Actinic 7? OR
Could the script that opens Adobe be corrupted and if so, where is it and how do I fix it?

Are you printing your reports to pdf and then can't open them?
What pdfs are you referring to?

Just the basic actinic reports - packing lists for orders, invoices, sales analysis reports, etc. Any report built into actinic that creates a pdf - none of them will display as a preview or print.

More info in case it helps:

On any given order, the Standard Packing List doesn't print of preview, but the Data Entry Report does.

I've replaced orders.rpt from backup, but is that not the correct item for the packing list?

The reports in Actinic are not pdfs unless you print them to pdf. So unless you print to pdf you don't need Adobe to view them.

It seems to me from what you're saying that the packing list does not preview but the data entry report does. What actually happens when you you try to preview the packing list? Does it just open a window has blank content or does it not even open the preview window?

When I try to preview the packing list, it doesn't even open a new window. It just spins and freezes the whole actinic program without anything new appearing at all.

You could try changinfg the printer settings just before you actually print the report. It seems as if the reports are not seeing a valid printer any more for some reason.

Another option to try - this was posted by support a long time back:

                Can you try the following:

                - close Actinic
                - click the 'Start' button and select 'Run'
                - type 'regedit' in the 'Open' field and click 'OK'
                - this will open the 'Registry Editor' (please be careful in here as you could mess up your computer if you delete the wrong thing)
                - expand the following branch: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Actinic\Catalog7\Sites\<Site Name>\
                - highlight the 'Printer Settings' folder and delete it
                - close the registry editor and open Actinic and see if you can print your reports

I did already try that several times. When I tell click on Print Packing List, then click on Printer Setup from within the print screen, I can print a test or print out the printer settings from within the print screen just fine. But when I try to print the actual packing list, it doesn't work. And it also won't preview from within the print window. So it finds the printer fine. It just doesn't open the Packing List itself.

What program creates the packing list? Is it part of the main actinic program or is it an add on?

The reports are printed by Actinic using the Crystal Report runtime engine. There's no other add-on to do it - it's managed by Actinic.

Did you say you've tried deleting the registry key as described above?
