Catalog v3 download of entire online catalog structure

I've only recently started using Actinic. I was editing an existing catalog and uploading without problems.

Shortly after I had to restructure by cutting, deleting and adding new products/sub-sections. Once finished I tried to upload but only to find that it would run through the 'checking catalog' without problems, but while 'checking html pages' an error would pop up with 'error generating HTML page for catalog' . Initially the problem could have been my very long 'short descriptions' which I then shortened (they are now all under 40 characters long)...but I'm still having the same problem. I can't seem to get to the bottom of this - and unfortunately I am not technical at all, which doesn't help, I guess.

The catalog which is currently live is working fine - but I just can't update it, so I was wondering is there a way one can download the entire catalog and products etc. from the server - so that I can start from there?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kirsa

The best thing to do would be to get an expert to look at your catalog. You could enter an email support request with Actinic to do this.

Also, try going to 'Housekeeping | Compact Databases' to help your databases to run more smoothly.

Thanksvery much for your replies. I was a little worried about trying the 'Housekeeping | Compact Databases' because as far as I remember it said something along the lines of 'data may be lost'. Should I just go ahead and ignore this?
        Many thanks,

Copy ActinicCatalog.mdb (from your Site1 folder) to somewhere safe as a backup because that's the file that will be compacted.

(if you've got the space copy the entire Site1 somewhere safe)
