as im still on v7 but away change to v10 how do i go about doing the update for vat?

I am afraid we do not support v7 any longer. The VAT rate change related steps suggested for v8 for example, can be tried in v7 at the user's own risk.
However, if you are looking to upgrade this site to v10, then I suggest that the rate change be made post upgrade to avoid complication. -

i will not be upgrading for another 2 months or so and we process a lot of orders daily so we could not wait until this time, is there no workaround at all?
