    502 gateway error

    Hi all,

I am getting the following error message when I update a site:

A server error occurred while attempting to merge server files - 502 gateway error.

Can anyone tell me why, what it is and how to get rid of it please?

    TIA

    Hi Karen

We need to know more details before we can make a diagnosis

    1) Had it been working fine before? Is this something new?

    2) Do you get the same error when you go to 'Web | Refresh Website'?

    3) Are you using a secure server?

    4) Who are you hosting with?

    5) How are you connecting to the Internet?

I look forward to getting your response.

Did the 'Web | Configure Web Site Details' wizard work fine for you then or did you get any errors when you ran this?

            further...

is this error anything to do with the merge failure?

            CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

            Can't locate al000001.pm in @INC (@INC contains: C:/Perl/lib C:/Perl/site/lib . cgi-bin) at coachingsupplies\cgi-bin\ca000001.pl line 17.

...or is it something else entirely?!

This occurs when trying to add something to the shopping cart.

              Hi Karen

It looks as though your server may be set up incorrectly. Could you export your Advanced Network Setup details and send the file to me at bpsupport@actinic.co.uk. I'll have a look and see if I can figure out what's happening.

                Karen

I've uploaded to a test directory on your server and experience the same error, both on the upload and when browsing through the site, so it would seem the server is not set up correctly. Looking into it, this is probably due to the cgi-bin, that is used by the software, not being created as a virtual directory within IIS. If you could ask your web host to do this, I think your errors will go away.
