    Site taken down & upload error

    Hello

    Due to the well documented spam weakness in V7, I am striving to correct the problem using the usual steps (deleting pl & pm files, increment script ID by 1 etc).

    When I test the Network settings I'm getting an error referring to the cgi-bin folder;
    "Actinic is not able to run the CGI scripts on the server. It appears as if the scripts are not installed. The most likely cause is that you have an incorrect CGI-BIN URL."

    Followed by a second error;
    "The web server returned error code 404 - Requested URL not found. This means Actinic can not execute the CGI scripts on your web site."

    The host company have 'taken down' the site due to the spamming and it's redirecting to one of their own standard pages. Is it this redirection that's causing a problem in the uploading of the site now?

    It's odd that it was working fine last time I uploaded earlier in the year. I also tried compacting and refreshing the site.

    They have confirmed that no changes in permissions have been made to the site. I can also FTP to the site ok.

    Any ideas would be great please as I'm stuck with this one!

    Thank you

    Who is the host?

    Please post network settings

    As you sure the cgi-bin exists?

      The host, Hotchilli, removed the redirection on the domain and I'm now able to upload okay so it does seem this was the problem. The site had to be re-instated for me to correct the problem.

      Thank you for your response anyway.
