    Introducing VAT on existing products

I want to setup VAT calculations on my website.
The current prices I have entered on my website just need to stay the same.
So when my price is 10,- NOW, it will still need to stay 10,- after the VAT charge, which means it will need to show in the cart: 8.33 - vat 1.67.

But when I now enable VAT it adds 20 percent on top of the 10,-.
I have +- 2000 products in my website, do I need to correct them all or is there an easier wat to do this?

    You can:

    1. Export the products, change the prices in excel and then re-import them. This sometimes isn't as straightforward as it sounds.

    2. Make the changes using Access on the prices in the database. Only recommended for people who know what they're doing.

    3. Use Jan's excellent Pricing Tool which you can download from her 'mole end' website (there is a 30 day free trial on this). Versions are available for Actinic V4 onwards.

    4. Upgrade to V10 and use the 'prices entered as VAT inclusive' option.

My advice would be that upgrading is definitely worth doing, Jan's tool is a quick and simple option.

Note that some prices won't convert exactly so you'll need to check each one if you're worried about it.
