Upgrade 4.0.7 > version 5?

Is it possible to upgrade direct from 4.0.7 (pre Norton patch) to Actinic v5 (or 6) ?

Hi there,

This certainly will be possible. You can upgrade to V5 or V6, however making sure that the version of upgrade software is a full version rather then a patch.

My advise to you before you carry out the upgrade process is to keep a backup copy of your current version of Actinic.

Many thanks. I have ordered v6 today and will give it a go.

.... and I would dream of doing anything with Actinic before having several belt and braces backups ;-)

My thoughts are:

1. Leave the working version of 4.0.7 running live.

2. Get 4.0 running on a new PC (the old machine is getting a bit long in the tooth anyway) and then upgrade it to v6.

3. Get v6 running on a different (hidden) remote web server to test all is OK.

4. Finally upload the full new v6. site to the original server, (the real site) deleting the old v4 one entirely first.

5. dump the old PC with 4.0

Any pitfalls that you can see in that approach?

One other question. Is it better/easier to use the shared SSL offered by my ISP (Easily.co.uk), or to use the one offered by Actinic?
