Issues getting V7 up and running.....

    Hi all,

After a nightmare few weeks of PC's (including buying a new one, it breaking and sending it back) I have now got to install V7 onto a temporary machine as given the time of year, I need access to my store.... although in 3 weeks I get my new machine back in a factory resetted manner so will have to do this all again..... joys!

Anyway, my issue is that I have installed v707 HCFA fine but I have tried to copy and paste my version of "Site1" off of my external harddrive and into the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Actinic v7\Sites", this previously worked on my other machine but when I open up Actinic after doing the copy, it says "Unable to locate the database, the site will remain unchanged" and will not launch the program...

I have looked through all the directories and cannot find either "ActinicCatalog.mdb" or "Backup.mdb" so cannot copy them over to sort this........

Any ideas anybody? I am a self confessed noob and may be missing the obvious..... I can provide any info to help solve this, just let me know.

    Thanks

    Andy

    OK, I made some progress.
I ran the ActDiagnose.exe file and it told me that it could not find <program folder>\Sites\Site1\ActinicCatalog.mdb

So I looked in the old site1 folder and there was no ActinicCatalog.mdb but there was a Previous.mdb

I renamed Previous.mdb to ActinicCatalog.mdb, copied the old site1 into place and re-launched actinic.

All appeared fine, I hit "Update website" and it started uploading.

After a while, it started to upload the images, so I switched to a browser window and loaded my site - it had changed to the latest changes I had made pre-crash but failed to upload. All seemed great!

However, just as we seemed at the finish post, the uploading stopped as it reached the "Merging incremental updates at the web site" stage with the error "An error occurred while sending the merge request".

    Can anyone help?

      Try doing another upload.

If you get the same issue then do a refresh rather than an upload.
