Network Errors

For some reason I've started to get this error when I update mysite.....

Actinic Ecommerce received a network error while merging files on the server. Try again later and contact your network administrator if the problem persists. The operation timed out

On the 2nd or third attempt I can usually merge successfully. I have tried refreshing or just updating.... but I can see no pattern for the errors...

Any ideas?

You'd have to look at your server logs to confirm this but it's likely that the Perl script that runs the "Merging..." phase is either running out of allowed time or is exceeding the memory available on your server.

The fact that you can fix it if you try again tends to confirm this as the server may be less busy some times.

There have been other reports of customers with large shopping carts getting this type of ittermittent error for the above reasons.
