    Breadcrumb

    Hi all,

Hopefully this is an easy one.
My breadcrumb is displaying on two lines instead of one.
I have tried editing all the usual templates but it will not si on the one line. Any ideas?

    Please check - http://www.graphicdiscount.co.uk/acatalog/AppleMac.html

    for a perfect example.

    Kind Regards

    Granthams.

The line is "<SPAN CLASS="breadcrumbthis"><B>AppleMac</B></SPAN>" and ther's no break on the previous item so it might be in your CSS.

      Thanks Norman.

Now this is strange. I thought I had fixed it by removing the non-breaking space tags in the sections separator template. It has fixed some pages but not others. I haven't spotted any problems in the CSS.

      Please check - http://www.graphicdiscount.co.uk/acatalog/PC.html

for a fixed page and -

      http://www.graphicdiscount.co.uk/acatalog/AppleMac.html

for a page with the error.

Is there something somewhere that gives the breadcrumb a maximum width?

      Kind Regards

      Granthams.

        Yep. You have <TD width="293" height="110" ALIGN="LEFT" VALIGN="MIDDLE" >

For the cell that info is in.

I'd search your templates - probably Act_Primary.html for that.

        Norman

PS The first item on that Mac Page is a G4 for £210. Is that right?

The breadcrumb section list is still in a cell that's only 293 wide. If you set IE's text size to larger than medium it still needs 2 lines.

I'd just remove that width="293" and all should be OK. The line is probably the one above NETQUOTEVAR:FORMBEGIN in Act_Pprimary.html. Here's what it usually looks like:-

            <td valign="MIDDLE" align="LEFT" >
            NETQUOTEVAR:FORMBEGIN

            Norman

PS What about that G4 price. Is it real?

              Thanks for your help guys.

I will now be able to fix it today.

Im sorry Norman, that is not the real price. The site is still being built so know one knows about it yet apart from you guys.

I wouldn't possibly want to advertise on this forum but it should be more like £800 or so. Sorry.

              Kind Regards.

Damn! I'd better cancel that order for 100 G4's

Seriously, I see you're using a DHTML menu.

If you've hard-coded this you may be interested in NorTree and NorCascade, two alternative menu sysytems that can be made to look just like yours, but that are automatically generated from the Actinic suite structure. Details on www.rouxel.cwc.net/actinicstuff.html

I'm sorry Norman, our Actinic stock control tells us we only have 1 in stock.

If anyone else is wondering if that is a true price, I'm sorry but its not. Please don't call for details.

Thanks for the tip about the NorMenus. I was originally going to use one of your menus but the site (when finished) will feature lots of non-actinic pages which will be included in the navigation. I have been using this type of menu for years so decided to use it again. However, I do browse through your site frequently looking for actinic add-ons and do find some very useful enhancements. Keep up the good work!

                  Kind Regards

That navigation is hand-coded I believe.

However see NorTree and NorCascade, two alternative menu sysytems that can be made to look just like it, but that are automatically generated from the Actinic suite structure. Details on www.rouxel.cwc.net/actinicstuff.html

The link I mentioned above will also take you to the sites of the Menu code developers, from where you can get a general purpose version, help files and tutorials. It's all only 3 clicks away.
