components with order quantities

Does anyone know if it is possible to insert a quantity amount for a component of a product

A client of mine has a bed store and has the following scenario

Product
Component 1 (Frame) + 2 type attributes
Component 1 (Mattress) + 5 type attributes
Component 1 (Bedside Table)

The bedside tables do not exist as independently viewable products and can only be ordered with the bed.

My client needs to be able to allow the customer to specify more than 1 bedside table even though the quantity for the overall product will still be 1 - can this be done?

I'm afraid not - in order to do it like that, the bedside tables will have to be separate products.

However, you could have two separate optional components called 'Left Bed Side Table' and 'Right Bed Side Table' and then customers can tick boxes to select the ones they want.

I did have another thought after I'd written this post and that was to simply put in up to say 5 attributes for the bedside table component which were

no bedside table thanks : £0:00
1 Bedside Table : £10:00
2 Bedside Tables : £20:00
3 Bedside Tables : £30:00

and so on

At least that would enable the customer to select the number that they wanted
