lots of variables - can it be done?

hi

i've got a client running catalog who wants his products to have the following variables, all affecting the final price:

initial product (ticket & hotel package)

3 or 4 star hotel

room type (inc. single room supplement if required)

no of nights stay

no of tickets required

these are roughly the same ecommerce sums as

http://www.latestevents.com > Britney Spears > Wembley Arena (sorry, full URL wouldn't fit)

how can this best be done?

First of all - create a component within the product called 'room details'

3 or 4 star hotel

This would be an attribute within 'room details' with two choices.

room type (inc. single room supplement if required)

I reckon this would be another attribute within 'room details'.

no of nights stay

Another attribute within 'room details'.

You would then use the permutations grid for the 'room details' component to calculate the correct price for each combination of choices.

no of tickets required

This is a separate component within the product with an attribute called 'number of tickets' and a range of choices within it. Set a different price for each possible number of tickets within the 'Permutations' grid of the component.

thanks for this - a rough go at it would seem to suggest it all works as required

however, when you 'add to cart', after the page that announces 'Please wait for your browser to forward you to the next page or click here.' instead of getting forwarded to the next stage of booking, you get sent back to the previous page (though with your booking acknowledged in the cart)

any idea whats going on here and how to rectify it?

Change the 'Bounce Page Delay' in 'Design | Options | Shop Defaults' to '0' in order to fix this.

Also, you seem to have a picture of Beyoncé Knowles rather than Britney Spears for the section icon
