    Adhoc Payments

is it possible to put an item on the catalog so they can type a adhoc figure into a text feild and they go through the normal order processing, so if they didnt want anything off the catalog but wanted to make a payment of £54.95 they type this figure into a text box and proceed to the check out ?

    Hi James
One way around would be for you to create a generic payment item costing 1p. The customer could then order 5060 to pay £50.60.
Or you could have one item for £1 and one for 1p.
    Just an idea

That causes a problem because the catalog then wants to add VAT and handling onto those prices, What im looking for is they can enter a sum and then proceed to the checkout.

I realise its not an ideal solution, just a work around.
VAT shouldn't be a problem if you set the VAT for that product to 'exempt'.
Postage/handling could also be worked around, but this depends on how you calculate your postage. If its is weight based, simply set the product weight to zero.
