Problem with picture when using shtml

    Sirs,

    Actinic Catalog v4 Version 4.0.7.2.2.0.BFSA

    The site is http://commerce.la-place-vendome.com

Prior I used Actinic credit card encryption.

    I changed for SSL.

The problem is that the Company Logo and the Search pictures don't appear anymore when shtml is used.

    See the 2 joined JPEGs

    Thank for your help

In version 4, it is all or nothing: you either have the entire store running on SSL, or you have none of the store running on SSL. You cannot have some pages on one, and some on another - and it looks like you are trying to do this.

Some customers have gotten around this by having the https and the http URLs pointing to the same acatalog and cgi-bin folders online. However, your http URLs are:

    http://commerce.la-place-vendome.com/acatalog/

    and your https URLs are

    https://host7.hosteddomain.com/~laplace/

...which seems to show that you are trying to use your webhosting company's shared SSL service. This is not going to work.

All you can do is either:

    1) Try and host the entire store under SSL.

    2) Upgrade to v6 and use the split SSL features in that to run the store with a mixture of http and https URLs.

      Dear Chris,

The upgrading to V6 seems to be the right solution... but the problem is, the huge job for a line-after-line transfer of almost 3000 items and a quite complicated site in V4 toward V6. We tried to transfer to V5 last year and had stopping early because of disfunction in the process of upgrading.

      Please advise
      Regards
      Henri

        'Please advise'?

Actinic does not normally have any difficulties upgrading a database from v4 to v6. The issues arise from upgrading customised templates.

If you have not spent loads and loads of time customising the HTML, most people find it quicker to accept whatever changes Actinic wants to apply to your layout, and then simply select a basic theme (a 'Clean Layout') and reapply any necessary design changes.
