weird things going on when adding products

OK, something strange is happening when I add a product into sections (that normally have a subsection)
I've been adding a suggestions link everywhere on site, in sections, sub-sections and in the product pages.
Nothing untoward happens when I add it into the product sections but, when I put it in the section lists, it then duplicates the section list below the product (which should be at the bottom of the page)
It's not really a problem but a bit odd!!

It's evident even on the first page.
Any ideas?

you could check that under 'design options>sections' that list placement is set to be 'top' only and not 'both'.

I thought that referred to the breadcrumb though?
Am I wrong about that?

There's two of them.

The 'parent section list' bit is the breadcrumb trail.

The bit underneath that marked 'Default location and arrangement of section lists' is what you need to check.
