User logs in, can't see prices

When I create a user account and set it to use a different price schedule, the user cannot see the price he is paying, his checkout totals for items are zero and only the shipping rate appears. Prior to that he can see the normal retail price. Is this normal?

Check whether you have put a multiplication factor of '0' for the new price schedule.
