    actinic support, pls help

    Please,
does anyone from support have any ideas why this error is occuring on checkout using the java applet

"An error occured while sending the data to the website. The error was "The order details sent by the java applet or secure server do not match the order details stored on the website. Your order has not been placed. If this problem persists, please use another payment method". This may be a temporary problem, so we will try sending the data again."

    it then just freezes up.

please try and order anything and you will recieve the same error just use "0000" as credit card number

ive been having a few problems with my site over the last few days so i ended up

    - exporting the site to a CSV
    - copying the images folder
    - i then uninstalled actinic
    - completley wiped my remote server
    - re-installed actinic
    - imported from the CSV
    - copied the images back over
    - refreshed the website

im still getting the same problem...

if anyone knows whats causing this problem i would be grateful, i can set it so customers can pay with cheque, that goes through fine but its when capturing details...

    im pulling my hair out

    Cheers Phil

      Hi Phil

I tried to place a test ordder and encountered the problem you mentioned. I am only guessing but there may be an issue with writing data to your website (permissions) as you appear to have uploaded manually, etc. I am sure thst the technical minded of the forum will know better than me what might be causing this. All that I can suggest to try is to clear all files / directories from the website and let Actinic re-create ALL the necessary directories/files and permissions BUT before you do this I would give others some time to add their views to see what the consensus / answer may be.

As an aside, you are charging VAT on non EU orders and I would advise that you check with your local VAT office the appropriateness and proper treatment of such charges.

        Looks like the same issue.

the other post was mine, before i did all the stuff i said in this one.

I know about the VAT to non EU, i just rushed through setting up the tables after i re-installed actinic. oversight on my part. not back in work till monday mornin though, ill sort it then. (not that anyone can buy anything anyway)

i already have cleared out the entire website and let actinic re-create all directories, files and permissions itself...still no luck

the site seems to run scripts ok.
could it still be the permissions at fault?

          cheers

From the code I gather that Actinic sends some "lighweight" order details to the applet and then the applet sends it back using a fixed encryption key. Actinic encrypts the same data in the server and then compares the two. I assume that is used to error check the data.

You have already done all I can think of. This needs real Actinic support.

You've done everything I can think of as well. Please raise an email support request at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and the team will take a closer look than we can do here.
