Norton Internet Security still modifying referral page when adding items to cart

    Hi

I have just upgraded to Actinic 6.1.4 (from v6.1.2) in the hope that the known problem regarding Norton messing with the referral page would be fixed - but the problem is still there.

ie. when adding an item to my cart I get forwarded to

    /acatalog/index.html

and not the page where the item was added, as I hoped.

Has anyone else still got this problem in v6.1.4 ??

    Any recommendations ??

    FYI:

    - when I do a Help->Troubleshoot->Web Site Analysis
the ACTINIC_REFERRER cookie is set to:
    http://<my-domain>/acatalog/index.html

    - when I disable Norton Internet Security I am successfully forwarded to the page where I added the item.

    Any info appreciated

    Cheers

    Peter

most likely the site upgrader has failed to copy updated .pl/.pm and .js script files into your site1 directory

      Thanks for you reply.

In the Help->TroubleShooting section I selected the utility that compares my active Perl scripts with the default ones. There were no differences reported...

How can I check the .js files ??

        Hi

I am still getting nowhere with this problem.

My perl scripts are the same as the 'Original' ones.

        Can anyone help ??

        Cheers

          Hi there

Tracey tells me you were able to fix this by resetting your 'URL for Completed and Aborted Checkout' settings in 'Design | Options | Miscellaneous'.

Would you be able to confirm this?

            Hi Chris

Yes, I fixed the problem with Tracey's and the Actinic cover team's help (see end of this post).

Before the fix my settings were:

            - 'acatalog/index.html' in the 'URL for completed and aborted checkout' field.
            - 'No frames in checkout' was checked.
            - The CUSTOMVAR 'ACT_SETUP_FRAMES_OFF' was present.

            Thanks to everyone at Actinic.

            Best regards

            Peter

            Here's the fix:

"Can you check the 'Design | Options | Miscellaneous | 'URL for completed and aborted checkout' field. If you have something in this you need to remove it and un-check 'No frames in checkout' option. Also, please check in 'Advanced | Custom Properties' if you have something that says ACT_SETUP_FRAMES_OFF. If so, then please delete it (right-click and select delete row). Update your site once you have done this.

Also you should try to delete your online session files, which you can do through 'Help | Troubleshooting | Purge Session Files'. Be aware that by doing this you will empty a shopper's cart so please do this only when you are sure that your site might be quiet.

Just to make sure that it is not a caching problem with your browser, you should also clear your cookies and temporary internet files.

Then try the site again yourself and see if it does what it should for you."

Norton Internet Security still modifying referral page

              Hello,

I followed your fix instructions and even refreshed both sites and went into |Start|Programs|Accessories|Disk CleanUp| to clear my cache

Still not working. I am using Clean Layout 4 with Quantity on Product Page.

Any other suggestions - both sites www.bonniesgifts.com and www.bonnies-gift-shop.com - when adding a product to cart redirects to my |Parent directory|

              Thanks

Your site is behaving just like mine did before I upgraded to 6.1.4. I have NIS 2004. I just tested my site and it works OK, but yours still will not work until I disable NIS. This is of course no help to you, except to confirm that you seem to have a unique problem. I do not have a way of confirming that you are truly running the 6.1.4 scripts.

I would create an index.html file in your acatalog folder that redirects the user to a friendly page.

                  Norton still modifying referral page

                  Hi Bob,

How do I make an index.html in my site folder, and what contents would you suggest, and how would I make the continue shopping button direct to that page?

I have never done an upgrade? Do you know where I can find instructions? Did you have any problems when upgrading to 6.1.4? I would like to upgrade, but I am leaving for vacation on 09-06-04 and don't know what to expect when upgrading. However, on the other hand, I'm losing money because people cannot place orders.

Any detailed help would be greatly appreciated.

                  Thanks

You may want to rename catalogbody.html to index.html.

Upgrading to 6.1.4 was straightfoward. 6.1.5 seems to be the same. See http://www.actinicdownloads.com/v6/
