Recommended 6.1.4 upgrade procedure?

I currently do not have any Actinic software installed. I do have a snapshot created in version 6.1.3

Should I install the full version of 6.1.4 and then import the 6.1.3 snapshot?

Or, should I install 6.1.3, import the snapshot, and then apply the 6.1.4 patch?

Hi Matt

Either of those options would work, but if you have the 6.1.3 software on a cd, you may find it easier and quicker to install 6.1.3, then import your snapshot.

Then all you would have to do is download the 6.1.4 patch from www.actinicdownloads.com, then install that - your site will be upgraded once you have installed the patch.

We have Actinic setup so that I can upload the catalog from my laptop and then the orders are downloaded via a computer in the office using order manager. If i update my catalog now would i need to update the computer inthe office to download the orders at the same time?

Thats right, you would need to be using the same versions at both ends.

Once youve got that going, you would need to make sure that the download machine holds the same Encryption Key as the uploading machine, this can be found in Housekeeping | Security Keys.

Then it will all run smoothly.
