I have set a product up so there are various choices each as a different price setup depending on the choice made, what i would like to know is how to assign a weight to this choice also for that the shipping can be worked out correctly as the product has different weights available at different prices,

You need to set up hidden products for each options and then set up the options as components, open up the component dialog and then go to the permutations tab, define the valid choices (there is a fill list button for this if they are all valid), and link them (ticking the use product price option) to hidden products with the correct price and weight, Actinic will then pick up the weight from the hidden product.

There are examples in the help file that give you a better explanation.
