i have sorted my initial problem, but now i can only get 1 subsection categorie displayed after clicking on a section. is there anyway to get all sub sections under that section displayed on screen instead of having to click through each sub section

This probably to do with the boxes you have ticked in the 'sections' area of 'design options'.
Try ticking a few to see what effect they have.

Actinic should automatically list all sub-sections within a section. As Mike says, go to 'Design | Options | Sections' and ensure you have selected 'Top' under 'Default Location and Arrangement of Section Lists'. If you have 'Images Only' selected, try de-selecting this in order to ensure that any sections without images will still appear.
Also, when you preview, make sure you click the button with two pages and the magnifying glass in order to generate up-to-date preview pages for the entire site.Comment
