special offer - 3 for the price of 2

Hi all

I would like to run a special offer where clients who order two products (in this case two 10kg bags of any grass seed) receive a third free.

Is this possible in catalog v.5.1.6? If not... (i suspect no)

Is the only 'special offer' type avaialble to me a 'reduced price offer' ie £5 off a product? (Ref: CD20a ACT knowledge base)

Can anybody point me to a 'creative' special offer used by another catalog v.5.1.6 user? One which encourages customers to buy more to get more.


Could I achieve the 3 for 2 if I upgraded eg to business?

I don't know of any neat ways to do this with Catalog (the only way of know of is to have several products - 1 for 1 and 1 for 3 on the same page) but business allows you to enter quantity price break information for each product which sounds like just what you need.
