    HELP! Cart not being saved

I have the web configuration set to delete carts after 72 hours. However, as soon as you exit the site, the carts are being deleted. We can "save" and "retrieve" and that appears to be working. But if you exit without saving first, the cart contents are wiped out. Any help would be appreciated. (This worked fine before I implemented customer accounts.)

        Right.

I just added an item to my cart. I then confirmed this and went back to the store page.

I then closed my browser and re-opened it and went back to the store. I then viewed the basket and my stuff was still in there.

Am I doing anything different to you?

Well, this is interesting. Let me step through what I see when I do the same thing.

          1. Log on, add an item or two to my basket
          2. Log Out
          3. Close my browser
          4. Open the browswer, go back to the site
          5. BEFORE I log on again, I see my stuff in my basket
          6. Log back in, and my basket is empty

It looks to me like Actinic is getting confused between the server and the PC cookie?

Just fyi -- I deleted the cookie associated with my site, and tried the same thing again. I still see the cart BEFORE I log in, but once I log in the cart is empty.

My suspicion is that logging in will restart the shopping session (with new prices and priviledges) and therefore effectively empty the shopping cart.

Personally, I would think that if the cart is emptied when a user logs on, this would be a bug, and not a feature. The cart should be saved until checkout is complete, or until the customer deletes the contents.

I agree, and on my store it does not do this (it retains the shopping cart). Is, by any chance, your login page on an SSL server, as sometimes there are session issues switching from http to https and back again.
