catalog wont shut down any more

My v 5.XXXXX catalog wont shut down any more.


usually when I exit the program pops up a small requester box asking if I want to backup the data base. I normally click yes and the Program closes down.

Now I close the program down and there is a corresponding requester box noise but I cant see any box. This forces me to Ctrl Alt Del and end process.

I tried making the catalog window really small before I closed it in case the pop up window was popping under the main catalog window. No pop up window visible.

This has coincided with me adding a second monitor to my set-up.

Any Ideas?

Can you close it with the Enter key?

When the V5 close dialogue appears the Yes (backup) option has focus so hitting Enter should be the same as clicking it (also Tab will toggle the No active so Tab / Enter will be the same as No).

If that doesn't work try Alt / Tab to cycle between open windows and see if it appears then.

yes hitting return does close it down

alt tab does not bring the box to the front :-)

oh well, another quirky procedure to follow
