Cart contents empty after adding items

I am in a quandry (just outside St Helens).

My customers Catalog (V 6.1.4) keeps loosing the contents of the shopping cart.

If you add something to the cart and continue shopping the contents of the cart on the product pages remains Zero Items, Zero value. You can return to the cart and the basket of items is still there, return to the product page and back to zero cart contents.

It seems to be an intermittent problem generally on my customers PC running Windows XP, but I have also seen it on my computer running Windows 2000.

This has been happening running the Catalog on test on FastHosts Linux server with the home button linking to the top level of the catalog (no external links).

    Any Ideas ?

    Regards

    Andrew

Your store is losing track of the session file. Could you give us a URL to look at to see it for ourselves?

    Two things to check:

    1) Are you splitting your store between SSL and non-SSL?

    2) Have you got the line:

    <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="NETQUOTEVAR:BASEHREF"/>

... somewhere near the top of your overall layout template (normally Act_Primary.html). If it is not there, add it just underneath the </title> tag.

      The URL is http://www.flyshop-online.co.uk/acatalog/

      1) The store was tested without SSL but it is now running with Actinic Shared SSL on the credit card transactions.

      2) I have got

      <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="NETQUOTEVAR:BASEHREF"/></Actinic:BASEHREF>

in the Act_Primary.html because I'm using the Nortree Menu Plugin and have added the bug fixes for Netscape 4 browsers, see the attached readme.txt file.

I've tried this on W2K and XP with no luck. I cannot reproduce your error.

Your HTML looks fine, and there is nothing significant in the Actinic error log.

There's nothing else I can say really.

I understand this problem has been fixed by changing the server time to BST rather than GMT.

There could be three or four causes for this.

Could you please give us a URL where the problem is happening?

If the site is private then I suggest the best thing to do is contact the Actinic Support team directly at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and ask them to take a look at it.

Cart contents empty after adding items

With some help from Krithika Chandrasekar Actinic Support I enabled 'Use relative CGI-BIN URLs in Catalog pages' in the Advanced network settings and it is now fine. The conetnts all display correctly.
