    Upload problems

I've been hit with them same problem discuss else where - Actinic uploads are taking ages and frequently timing out. I'm using broadband and the whole site is less than 20MB so bandwidth shouldn't be a problem.

Typically uploads halt halfway through loading .pl files.

Is there anyway of just uploading your changes rather than the whole site everytime?

    Thanks in advance,

    Edward

    Hi there

Normally if you click on the blue arrow, (Update), it should just updates the changes made in actinic, not upload the whole store again.

Try the following for your upload issues, go to "Advance | Network Setup". Place a tick in "Use Passive FTP transfer" Click on OK, then try again

    See if this works

Passive doesn't work - times out and wont load a thing.

Hitting the blue button still uploads EVERYTHING . . .

I quite often get an error about oldaccount.fil, oldaddress.fil and oldbuyer.fil

When I spoke to support they said I could ignore it. Might this be causing the complete refresh?

        Hi there

I quite often get an error about oldaccount.fil, oldaddress.fil and oldbuyer.fil
If this is on the merge part of uploading, then the issue is that some files within your /acatalog/ folder is not set to the correct permission. This will bring up a merge error, saying cannot copy newaccount.fil to oldaccount.fil

I would suggest in setting all .fil files within your /acatalog/ folder to be a permission of 777. This should fix the merge issue

        Kind Regards

Its possible this is down to the same issue, permission not being set correctly. I would suggest in selecting all files within your /acatalog/ folder and setting the permission to 777.

See if that does the trick. Should do.

              Thanks for the update.

              I've tried the following:

Changing all permissions for acatalog files to 777 - still uploads everything

Removing everything from acatalog, refreshed website and then doing upload (blue arrows) and the last stage still uploads everything.

Back to back uploads - still loads everything.

As the process runs it sends all base files, .pl and .pm and the all cat files and then all other files.

Are there any tools I can use to see what ftp commands are being sent through port 21? I might then have an idea of why actininc thinks the files need uploading.

              Thanks.
