VAT Problem

Please can anyone help because we have now registered for VAT and all seems OK except we charge postage for 1st class, 2nd class insured, and courier services. When a customer gets to checkout the software will charge vat on royal mail postage charges and we dont want it to, we need it to charge vat on our courier charges but not any of the royal mail postage costs.

Hi Lee,
I am no VAT expert but I am registered and I think you will find that you should be charging VAT even on the Royal Mail services.

I know you do not pay VAT on stamps etc but you need to charge it to customers for the service you are providing via Royal mail.

Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong.
