Changing Buttons

I am a total novice, is there a idiots guide to changing button styles ?

No.

Do you mean the navigation buttons that come with Actinic? You just need a decent graphics package (I use Macromedia Fireworks) and then open the image you want to change in the graphics program and edit it. Or just create a new one.
