does it make a difference to the search engines what your page name is called?
On of mine was still called products with choices did'nt even look until now!
And if it does will it make a difference to the search engines if it is called either

widgetsforsale.html

or

widgets-for-sale.html

or is there a better option? (always learning something new)

Yes, it does make a difference what the page is called. It's not a major factor in ranking but it all helps.

hyphens or no hyphens is pretty much up to you. I've seen debates about which is better and each side has it's champions but personally I wouldn't waste time worrying about it.
