    meta tags!!!

    hi there again

    i'm having trouble getting my meta tags sorted. i get different advice from every site i visit on this matter.
    i use web fusion for my front page and actinic v.5
    i've been trying for some time to get listed on the search engines with not much joy.
    Could anyone with knowledge and a bit of spare time have a look at my site and tell me if i'm doing anything wrong as i haven't got a scooby doo!!!!
    many thanks

    Who have you been listening to?

    this bit:

    <meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow">

    tells the robots not to index the page ( the 'noindex' bit) and not to follow links into the rest of your site ( the 'nofollow' bit). Get rid of it completely as it's not needed.

    Mike

    PS. i checked and you don't have a robots.txt. Good, as it isn't needed either.

        The key things for success in the search engines are:

        a) lots of links to your site from directories such as yahoo, DMOZ, etc and other web sites - but not Free For All / Link farms.

        b) making sure sure you have the key words for your site in the important places. i.e. in page titles, Headers, internal links, etc.

        Do these two things and you'll be ahead of the game.
