    Second Country Considerations?

We currently sell to only the US. We use Authorize.net and UPS Online Tools. We are now investigating selling to Canada and want to make sure we are considering everything.

    PRICES
I know we can also display prices in Canadian dollars and apply a recent exhange rate. No problems here.

    AUTHORIZE.NET
Are there any issues here? We are using their stock payment page. What currency should the customer enter? USD or CAN?

    UPS
This should be fine. I'll just add Canada as a valid location and include UPS's Canadian classes.

So my main concern is the credit card processing. Your thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

Once again, I post a reply to my own message soon after posting!

I spoke with Authorize.net and they said they only deal with USD. The customer would have to enter USD not CAN.

So, I should not put CAN pricing on my site because they may enter CAN $ during checkout.

Is this what you other guys who sell to both US and Canada do?

    Thanks,
    Matt

In the Uk I have all my prices in GBP, but i also sell to Europe.

So i offer an online conversion ie xe.com and make it clear on the site that the conversion price is a guideline only and that payment will be taken in GBP. The customers credit card then bears the conversion charge

I also realized that the customer doesn't have to "enter" any pricing at all. The cart total is carried over to the payment page and is not modifiable; so that's good.

        I should be fine!

        Thanks,
        Matt
